Hi, I’m Saiema, the creator of Chitown Desi. By day, I’m a brand marketing professional with an MBA in marketing and over 15 years of experience helping brands tell their story. My career began in corporate event management before I transitioned into more traditional marketing after completing my MBA. But my heart has always been in building meaningful experiences that connect people.That passion is what sparked Chitown Desi—a platform to shine a spotlight on Chicago’s vibrant South Asian businesses and bring our culture to life through high-quality, themed events. These aren’t your typical bazaars. I envision immersive experiences that celebrate heritage, creativity, and community in a way that’s both memorable and value-driven.Beyond my professional life, I’m also a proud mom of three. I want my kids to grow up with a strong sense of their South Asian roots while also embracing the mainstream culture around them. Through Chitown Desi, I hope to create events that allow my children—and everyone else’s—to experience Desi culture in ways that are fun, fresh, and proudly visible.Ultimately, my goal is simple: to elevate and showcase what the South Asian community has to offer, while inviting people from all over Chicago to join in, celebrate, and connect.
